Air Liquide moves forward in its commitment to decarbonize industry and its operations
- Sustainability
In July 2022, Air Liquide Mexico launched one of its most recent initiatives which generates a great impact on our community in terms of carbon footprint reduction. This initiative consists of converting from road transportation of liquid CO2 to railroad transportation, from Texas to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. By delivering larger quantities of CO2 by rail, this initiative will decrease transportation emissions by more than 70% annually, reducing the impact on our environment.
This initiative is fully in line with the company's new global strategic plan, "ADVANCE" , which places sustainable development at the core of its business strategy. With the conviction that it is our mission to contribute to society in all aspects in which it can make a difference, Air Liquide Mexico has decided to commit to this project, which translates into greater efficiency, but which responds, first and foremost, to the company's commitment to reduce its CO2 emissions by 30% by 2035, in line with international efforts to reduce global warming.
"Once more, the company is taking action to achieve a reduction of its carbon emissions into the environment, while helping its customers to do the same, through its portfolio of technology and service solutions,'' said Raphael de Montfort, General Director of Air Liquide Mexico.
This decision will also allow the company to maximize its resources, which will be used to improve the delivery processes of industrial gases to its customers and to obtain new business opportunities. In this context, our organization evolves to face and improve on this new scenario, maintaining the philosophy that has led us to success in our operations, which is to continue providing excellence in service and generating value for our customers.
