Combustion at a glance
Oxygen is an important part in the primary smelting process. Air is commonly used as a source of oxygen for combustion to heat industrial furnaces. Oxy-combustion is based on the enrichment of air with pure oxygen to improve the efficiency of the smelting process. By using oxygen instead of air, the nitrogen content is reduced, which does not participate in combustion, and by reducing the nitrogen content, heat losses are reduced, while the temperature and reaction rate are increased. Additionally, with oxy-combustion systems, fuel consumption is significantly reduced, and therefore the generation of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide.

Air Liquide offers solutions for glassware surface reheating and edge melting after the forming process. The technology is designed to erase marks created by the edges of bottle molds or to polish the sharp edges of table glasses. This gives glass products, including fine items such as dinnerware, perfume bottles, and crystal glasses, a smooth, shiny appearance.
Nexelia for Glass Finishing provides an oxy-fuel solution with high-performance equipment where there is no need to waste precious time during the last stage of your process, as a high temperature oxy-flame achieves fast in-line polishing. Simultaneously, quality is significantly increased by reducing the number of defects and rejects, thus increasing the production rate.
