In agriculture, the use of carbon dioxide can help increase the yield and growth rate of fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers grown in greenhouses. Achieving the ideal levels of carbon dioxide to produce flourishing plants, faster crop maturation, and larger cash crops requires technical know-how. Additionally, carbon dioxide or mixtures of carbon dioxide with oxygen help in the stunning process of pigs or chickens, by reducing the stress of the animals to improve their welfare and the quality of the meat.
In aquaculture, oxygen is absolutely necessary for the life of aquatic organisms. Some species are very sensitive to oxygen deprivation, while others are much less so. This oxygen is naturally provided by the water in which the fish live, but the intensification of farming makes this natural source insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to provide additional oxygen to the water.
