Inclusion and diversity, key to Air Liquide Mexico's strength.
With the clear idea that a diverse team is the key to a company's success, at Air Liquide Mexico, we are convinced that "having employees of different origins, gender and religion, people with disabilities, with diverse sexual orientations and ways of thinking makes us stronger".
Twelve years after Air Liquide's arrival in our country, we have worked with the vision of having a balanced population in terms of gender, so that today, in addition to having specialized technicians in various operations, among our employees there is a high percentage of women in management and high responsibility positions who receive the same benefits as men in their jobs.
In this regard, the company's inclusion and diversity plan is to advance towards the goal of having 35% of management and professional positions occupied by women by 2025, which also includes a greater presence of women in the operational area in a sector where these positions are traditionally held by men.
In addition, there is a recent initiative to install breastfeeding rooms, which allows women to fully exercise their motherhood, helping to eradicate the idea that work responsibilities and family life are incompatible.
Another of our goals is to increase the hiring of people with disabilities, which is already a reality in some areas. The work, however, does not end there, since, in parallel, Air Liquide Mexico, through the passion and diversity of its people, has prepared and trained itself to have this talent in its workforce, through adaptations in its offices and plants to make them accessible to our new collaborators with almost any disability, as well as a permanent work of awareness among employees and thus have greater openness and flexibility to adapt to colleagues with any type of disability.
Air Liquide Mexico has set a 2023 goal to become certified by organizations dedicated to the labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
To formalize these commitments in the company in 2021, it was decided to create an Inclusion and Diversity Committee, composed of employees from different areas, which seeks substantial equality and the creation of a diverse climate.
One of the concrete results of this Committee are the criteria used in attracting talent through techniques such as the blind curriculum, with which we are sure that those who join the Air Liquide team in Mexico will find a world of learning and development opportunities where innovation is at the core of what we do in an inclusive, collaborative and respectful environment.
In addition to all of the above, Air Liquide Mexico always maintains its ethical and labor guidelines under strict compliance with NOM 035, which establishes the bases for preventing psychosocial risk factors, as well as promoting a favorable organizational environment in the workplace.
In other words, we are not only guided by the results of our organizational climate survey, but there is also an outside party that endorses where we are in terms of professional development, diversity, inclusion and ethics".
